Packaging & Product Label Design

Packaging introduces a product before it is opened. I design packaging and labels that organize information, make room for the brand, and present the product in a clear visual language.

What can you design?

Packaging fronts and backs, product labels, or graphic adaptations across a product range. A mockup can also help present the direction. Scope depends on the product, contents, dimensions, and required formats. Packaging design is separate from manufacturing; design work and printing or production costs need to be defined separately.

What should I send before we begin?

The product and brand names, an existing logo, dimensions and a dieline from the printer or packaging supplier, approved copy, and available product photos. We can discuss the project without a dieline, but the supplier's technical specifications are needed before preparing print files.

How do you decide what goes on the front?

We distinguish the product name, product illustration, and main message. Supporting information should be readable without overcrowding the front. In the Modino Rail example, the packaging shows the train and track in action, using blue, orange, and red. The product visualization plays a central role in the design.

What's the difference between a mockup and a print file?

A mockup visualizes how packaging will look, helping present and evaluate the design. It is not evidence of production and does not replace a technical dieline. A print file follows the supplier's dimensions and requirements. Required copy, markings, and specialist information must be supplied and approved by you before being incorporated.

Before We Begin

Can you design a label for an existing product?

Yes. Send the dimensions, a product photo, required text, and existing brand materials so we can define the necessary changes.

Does the service include printing and manufacturing?

The proposal must explicitly state what is included. A portfolio mockup does not mean that printing or manufacturing is included in the design service.

What determines the price?

The number of products and versions, the amount of copy and design work, availability of dielines and photos, and whether mockups are needed. A proposal follows the scope discussion.

Let's Discuss What You Need

Send a brief project description, a link to your business, and any source materials. We'll clarify the scope and prepare a proposal that fits your needs.
